Omega first served as Official Timekeeper at an Olympic Winter Games in 1936 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, where four-man and two-man bobsleigh races were already on the programme. As Official Timekeeper at 11 Olympic Winter Games (and innumerable championship competitions) since 1936, Omega has unparalleled experience in providing precise and reliable times and results.
In 2002, Omega signed a multi-year agreement with the FIBT to serve as Official Timekeeper of the FIBT World Cup and FIBT World Championships. Under the agreement, renewed in 2005, Omega will provide Official Timekeeper services through 2010. Omega will also serve as Official Timekeeper of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the London 2012 Olympic Games. Swiss Timing is the Swatch Group Company whose expertise enables Omega to provide timekeeping services at all sports events.
