Viessmann FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Cup Tour 2011/2012: Lyndon Rush wins in Whistler, Arndt second ahead of Hefti
Whistler (RWH)  Another home victory for Canada: bobsleigh pilot Lyndon Rush and brakeman Jesse Lumsden have won the two-man bobsleigh race in Whistler in the Viessmann FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Cup Tour. In his first victory in two years – the Canadian last won in St. Moritz in January 2010 – Rush/Lumsden beat Maximilian Arndt and Martin Putze of Germany, who were still ahead after the first run, down into second place, 0.07 seconds behind. This was the first victory on his home track for Rush, who collected bronze in the four-man event in the 2010 Winter Olympics. The Swiss duo of Beat Hefti and Thomas Lamparter came in third 0.22 seconds back.
Further down the ranks, Nick Cunningham of the USA made a successful World Cup debut at the helm of the two-seater, coming ninth with brakeman Dallas Robinson.
After the penultimate race in the Viessmann FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Cup Tour 2011/2012, Beat Hefti continues to head the overall rankings with 1,470 points, followed by Maximilian Arndt with 1,373. World Champion and World Cup titleholder Alexsandr Zubkov of Russia, who came fourth in Whistler, is third with 1,232 points.
