FIBT sliding school: Athletes from eight nations in Lake Placid

Lake Placid (RWH) Young athletes from eight nations followed the invitation of the FIBT (Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing) to the International Sliding School in Lake Placid (USA). Prior to the Americas Cup finale on 29 and 30 March the bobsleigh and skeleton athletes from Argentina, Canada, Croatia, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland and the USA gained theoretical and practical knowledge about the sports.

Supported by six bobsleigh coaches and four skeleton coaches, including the head coaches Todd Hays (USA) and Tom De la Hunty (CAN) for bobsleigh as well as Rebecca Sorensen and Tuffy Latour (USA) for skeleton, from 19 to 23 March made daily training runs on this winter’s World Championships track and learned about bobsleigh and skeleton sports and the FIBT rules. As coaches from the FIBT development programme Joseph Kilburn and Pat Brown were also part of the team.
