Pierre Lueders resigns from coaching post in Canada

Calgary (RWH) Pierre Lueders (CAN) will leave his position as national team development coach this month, as was announced by the federation Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton. Lueders, Olympic Champion 1998 in two-man-bobsleigh and silver medallist in 2006, was coach for the young Canadian bobsledders since two years. Now the 41-years-old after more than two decades in bobsleigh sport looks for new options. “I have dedicated 22 years of my life almost exclusively to the sport of bobsleigh in Canada - both as an athlete and a coach - but I feel now it is time to take a break, look at other career options, and most importantly spend some much-needed time with my family,” said the five-time Olympian. Lueders, World Champion in two-man-bob 2004 and 2005, is record winner in World Cup with a total of six overall victories and the most successful Canadian bobsleigh athlete.
