Wealth Management / Trust Operations Analyst

Position Summary: 

Under the direction of the Wealth Management Operations Manager (WMOM), the Wealth Management/Trust Analyst (WMTOA) serves as the primary operational support contact in their assigned market. Under the delegated approval of the WMOM, WMTOA executes operational activities supporting investment management clients and in the administration of complex trust/fiduciary accounts, drives consistent execution of operational policies and procedures, and is responsible for the overall condition of daily operations for the wealth management/trust department in the assigned market. This position requires a sound knowledge of established procedures, methods and practices. The WMTOA will ensure adherence to policies, procedures, objectives, and practices and applicable laws.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • OPERATIONS: (95%)
    • Ensures compliance of policies and procedures for all records, accounts, and documentation in area of responsibility
    • Manages the operational work-flow for the assigned market
    • Proactively reviews, analyzes and recommends operational efficiencies for current processes
    • Receives and verifies money movement reconciliation reports daily
    • Reconciles internal fiduciary accounts daily
    • Opens and closes new accounts on the system of record
    • Manages asset transfers and documents receipt of assets 
    • Processes invoices for WM/T management as directed
    • Generates daily reports for assigned market and distributes to appropriate account officer
    • Compiles and accurately reports all financial data as required by bank policy and government regulations
    • Responds timely, efficiently and professionally to all operational requests
    • Educates other WM/T team members to improve efficiency and ensure conformance to standard procedures and practices
    • Coordinates contingency planning by ensuring all WMTOA are fully aware, capable and have access to each other’s responsibilities in the event workflow transfer is necessary
    • Remains current on policy or procedural changes and new product offerings
    • Attends periodic training and exchange of ideas forums.
    • Assists with various projects and assignments as needed
    • May directly manage or lead more junior operations staff


  • COMMUNITY: (5%)
    • Serves as an ambassador of the WM business and FIBT in the local market
    • Represents the bank in the community through leadership; could sit on one or more non-profit boards
  • Other duties as assigned


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or Finance preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of operations experience within a wealth management/trust, registered investment advisor, broker/dealer working environment
  • CSOP, CTOP®, ATOP or CTFA certification considered a plus
  • Understanding of securities processing and trust accounting
  • Strong ability to work as a part of a team
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a self-starter
  • Local market experience preferred
