FIBT Celebrates Sheila and Retail’s Next Chapter

After more than two decades of leadership in community banking, Sheila Gerszewski, Director of Retail Banking at First International Bank & Trust (FIBT), will retire on June 25, 2026, concluding a career defined by thoughtfulness, mentorship, and a deep commitment to people.

During her more than 12 years with FIBT, Sheila has been an influential leader across the organization, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry to her role. As Director of Retail Banking, she oversaw First International Bank & Trust retail offices across North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Arizona, leading teams focused on delivering strong customer experiences and supporting the bank’s continued growth.

Throughout her career, Sheila was known for her passion for people and her ability to build strong, high-performing teams. She was actively involved in professional development, regularly participating in leadership training programs focused on accountability and effective supervision. Her leadership played an important role in strengthening both the employee experience and the relationships that define FIBT.

As part of a thoughtful leadership transition, Kacie Weber has been named Director of Retail Banking and will step into the role following Sheila’s retirement. Kacie brings more than seven years of experience at FIBT, during which she has held several impactful roles including Learning & Development Retail Instructor, Organizational Development Specialist, and Organizational Development Manager. Most recently, she served as Director of Organizational Development, where she played a key role in supporting employee growth, leadership development, and organizational culture.

She brings a deep understanding of FIBT’s people-first philosophy and a strong background in developing teams and leaders across the organization. In her new role, Kacie will lead retail banking strategy and operations, continuing to build on the strong foundation Sheila established while supporting consistent, relationship-driven experiences across all markets.
