FIBT Announces $250,000 Gift to Prairie Grit and Minot YMCA

First International Bank & Trust (FIBT) is proud to announce a gift of $250,000 to support a joint venture between Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports and the Minot Family YMCA.

The donation to the newly merged organizations will support a capital campaign to restore areas damaged by flooding from a burst pipe earlier in 2025, as well as create additional therapy space, enhance fitness areas, and expand programming.

“We are grateful for FIBT’s support and partnership as we embark on an exciting new chapter,” said Krystal Butgereit, Executive Director of Prairie Grit. “With support from the Minot community, we can expand our reach and create more opportunities for people of all abilities to build confidence and experience joy.”

FIBT’s Vice Chairman Blaine DesLauriers served on the Minot Family YMCA Board of Directors for three decades. “Our family has been connected to the YMCA for many years, and seeing this new partnership unfold is inspiring,” he said. “FIBT’s support reflects the values we hold dear: community, inclusion, and opportunity for all.”

“I’ve seen firsthand how much these two organizations mean to our community,” said FIBT Commercial Loan Officer Preston Phillips, who serves on the newly formed Prairie Grit/YMCA Board of Directors. “I’m proud that FIBT is committed to helping these organizations grow to serve even more people in Minot and beyond.”
