First International Bank & Trust is seeking a Loan Associate to support our lending team in Gilbert, Arizona. This role supports the loan process from application through closing and funding and works closely with Loan Officers, Credit Analysts, and Loan Operations.

This opportunity is well suited for candidates with prior lending, loan documentation, or banking operations experience who are interested in growing their exposure to commercial and business lending. While prior commercial loan experience is helpful, we are open to candidates whose background aligns closely and who are motivated to develop deeper expertise in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Loan Officers and Credit Analysts by entering, validating, and maintaining loan data for documentation and underwriting purposes.
• Assist with gathering, ordering, and reviewing collateral documentation and coordinating with Loan Operations throughout the documentation process.
• Support loan closings and funding activities in accordance with approved loan terms, including providing backup coverage as needed.
• Ensure timely recording and perfection of liens and collateral.
• Manage incoming documentation, ticklers, file maintenance, and follow-up correspondence to ensure complete and accurate loan files.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal partners and clients regarding loan documentation and closing-related inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One to two years of related experience in lending, loan documentation, banking operations, or financial services.
• Exposure to loan documentation, collateral tracking, funding, or post-closing activities preferred.
• Ability to learn and apply lending policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a regulated environment.
