Commercial Credit Analyst (Junior)

Department: Credit Analysis
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Salary Range: $30 - $45/hr DOE

We are seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst (I/II) to support our commercial lending team by delivering accurate, timely credit analysis that supports sound lending decisions. This role partners closely with loan officers to evaluate financial performance, assess risk, and contribute to the growth of a high-quality loan portfolio. This position will focus on less complex credits initially, with the opportunity to take on more advanced analysis as experience is gained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation to assess creditworthiness across commercial lines (CRE and C&I).
  • Prepare credit presentations, loan summaries, and annual reviews.
  • Evaluate financial trends, cash flow, and repayment capacity, identifying key risks and mitigants.
  • Partner with loan officers to gather information and support credit structuring.
  • Assist senior analysts with more complex credit relationships as needed.
  • Utilize credit systems and tools (e.g., Sageworks or similar platforms) effectively.
  • Maintain accurate credit files and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Participate in training and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; 0–2 years of credit analysis, banking, or related financial experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to analyze basic financial statements, including business and personal tax returns.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present credit risk and recommendations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with credit analysis software (e.g., Sageworks) preferred.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with loan officers and business partners.
