Retail Banking Supervisor
We are seeking a Retail Banking Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations, performance, and success of our Sioux Falls branch. This is a hands-on, working supervisor role responsible for coaching and developing staff while actively supporting customers through transactions, account servicing, and consumer lending.
The ideal candidate brings strong retail banking leadership experience and is equally comfortable stepping in to serve customers, originating consumer loans and home equity lines, and drive branch growth through personal production and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily branch operations to ensure strong performance, service consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Coach, develop, and manage retail staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance accountability.
- Drive sales and referral activity through team leadership and participation in bank initiatives.
- Serve as the primary on-site leader, fostering a positive, accountable branch culture
- Actively assist customers with transactions, account opening, and account maintenance.
- Originate and support consumer loans and home equity lending (HELOCs).
- Build and retain deposit and loan relationships through proactive customer engagement.
- Serve as a “one-stop shop” by recommending appropriate products and services.
- Partner with mortgage, commercial, and internal teams to generate referrals.
- Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, audit standards, and risk controls.
- Monitor workflow, resolve escalated customer issues, and maintain operational accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of retail banking experience required.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Proven experience in consumer lending required; home equity lending experience strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service, sales, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively as a working supervisor (player/coach).
- Ability to maintain or obtain NMLS registration.
